Chair's Welcome

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, Geese and Ganders....

Welcome to UCT Ballroom Dancing 2009! To briefly introduce myself, I'm Chris Warner, Head-Nutcase of this Institute for Dancing Addicts.

We have a great committee for this year, and are all looking forward to a wonderful and exciting year of dancing. If you've never danced with us before, welcome to the opportunity of a lifetime! The UCT Ballroom and Latin Dancing Society (that is a bit of a mouthful isn't it?) is the premier social society at UCT. We have a huge number of events, ranging from exciting and varied social dances, trips to the beach, walks up mountains, to practically anything else we can think of.

For those who are rejoining us, you should know what you're letting yourselves in for! In addition to our usual line-up, this year we have extra technique classes for the higher levels, and have some exciting plans in place for more advanced extra classes, including Salsa and Argentine Tango. We are also hosting the Ballroom Intervarsity this year, which will be a fantastic experience for everyone.

To summarise: come learn to dance, or learn to dance better. Put your best foot forward, get out there and dance! See you all on the dance floor.
