PWP Schedule 2012

PWP holds dances on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month, normally at Voortrekker High School in Kenilworth. It's a great place to get in some extra dancing and you will have a lot of fun. The UCT contingent usually arrives at around 9 pm and occupies the far right table (next to the stage). The dress code is smart casual (no jeans — they look at you funny if you wear those). Student entrance to normal dances is R30 at the door; advance purchase is required for the higher-priced tickets to themed dances. See the PWP Social Dance Club and PWP Facebook page for details.

What is the “Friends of Ballroom” fee?

If you have been a faithful member of the UCT Ballroom and Latin Dancing Society for years, but find that you have progressed so far that there are no longer classes at your level, then it’s time to become a friend of ballroom! By paying an annual fee of R500.00 you qualify for members’ rates at socials, semi-formals and the Formal. You also get to participate in Intervarsity and Medal Tests and benefit from all the subsidies we provide for our dancers. So, besides not being able to attend any of the Tuesday and Thursday classes, you’re still as much part of ballroom as everyone else (but for cheaper because you’re not paying for those lessons you’re not getting).

FAQ

Q: Can I still come to extra Medal Test classes?
A: Yes! When you pay for Medal Tests your fee covers your classes.

Q: Can I still come to extra Intervarsity classes?
A: Yes! When you pay for Intervarsity your fee covers your classes.

Q: Can I still come to lower-level classes and technique classes?
A: No. If you wish to come to class on Tuesdays and Thursdays you need to pay the Non-Student fee of R800.
